KYBELLA®

(deoxycholic acid)

Kybella® is a prescription medication used to improve the appearance of fat below the chin (submental fat) also known as “double chin”. The active ingredient in Kybella® is synthetic deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring molecule in our bodies that aid in breakdown of fat. It permanently destroys the fat cells under the chin, around the jaw line and can be used in other locations as well. Contraindications to treatments include an infection at the injection site, pregnancy and breastfeeding.

This procedure typically requires 2-3 vials per treatment and typically requires more then 1 treatment depending on severity of the adipose tissue in the desired treatment area.

Cost is $650 per vial of Kybella®.

Kybella® appointment is 1 hour long. This will include a consultation first by the medical provider to ensure you are an appropriate candidate for Kybella® treatment. We will review your medical history, current medications, surgical history and if you have had any prior treatments. We will review your areas of concerns and you will receive an individualized plan for your face and recommended treatments for your specific needs.

Kybella® will immediately have swelling to the area that can last anywhere from 2-6 weeks. It is important to plan ahead for swelling. The destruction of fat cells is permanent. This treatment is minimally invasive and non surgical. You will be numbed prior to treatment with a topical lidocaine to minimize discomfort. You will receive detailed pre and post procedure instructions upon booking your appointment.
